Cabot Oil & Gas Announces New Vice Presidents

HOUSTON, Oct. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation (NYSE: COG) announced today that its Board of Directors has elected R. Scott Butler, age 46, to the position of Vice President, Regional Manager, Western Region, and A. F. (Tony) Pelletier, age 49, to the position of Vice President, Regional Manager, Gulf Coast Region. Butler and Pelletier report to Mike Walen, Senior Vice President, Exploration and Production, and are responsible for exploration and production activities in their respective regions.

Butler joined Cabot in 1998 as Director of Exploration and was named Regional Manager, Western Region, in February of this year. He came to Cabot following a 19-year career with Chevron where he served in roles of increasing responsibility focusing on exploration in the lower 48 states. Butler holds a bachelor's degree from Stanford University and a master's from the University of Nevada at Reno, both in geology. He is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and serves as a director-at-large for the Independent Petroleum Association of Mountain States.

Pelletier joined the Company in April as Regional Manager, Gulf Coast. Before coming to Cabot, he held positions of increasing responsibility at PetroCorp Incorporated, most recently as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to that, he worked at Exxon Company USA in a variety of engineering and supervisory capacities. Pelletier holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a master's in Civil Engineering, both from Texas A&M University. He is a registered professional engineer in the state of Texas.
